BNY Mellon Benefits Guide
Pricing Structure for Medical Coverage
Health plan premiums are based on five criteria:
  • your base pay;
  • the plan option you choose;
  • the carrier you choose;
  • the number of eligible dependents you choose to cover; and
  • for 2018, employees and their covered spouse/domestic partner can each earn a $400 premium reduction for completing a biometric screening and the WebMD Wellbeing Assessment (WBA) between September 12 and November 10, 2017.
    • Eligible employees and their spouses/domestic partners who newly enroll in a BNY Mellon sponsored health plan between September 1 and December 31, 2017, automatically earn the 2018 health plan premium reduction. In addition, new enrollees within the 2018 calendar year will also automatically earn the 2018 health plan premium reduction.
    • Eligible employees and their covered spouses/qualified domestic partners who enroll in Aetna International, are on long-term disability, military leave and pre-65 retirees will automatically receive the 2018 health plan premium reduction if they elect coverage under a medical benefit option in a Plan through BNY Mellon.
The per-pay contributions are shown in "2018 Medical Contributions" in the Medical and Prescription Drug section. Generally, the lower your base pay, the more BNY Mellon contributes toward the cost of your coverage.
